About Us 7

In 1978 Ken, owner of New Life Dry Carpet Care, began working as a sub-contractor for a company called Carpet Genie.We were the first dry carpet cleaning company in Atlanta.The first 3 years were spent doing commercial business only. Hotels and restaurants mainly. We cleaned over 300 restaurants on a regular basis in 3 states.

It didn't take long for me to be hooked on this because of the fine job the system did on those dirty carpets. We could work until 4:00 am and the restaurants could serve breakfast at 6. They were pleased because there was very little down time.I would hear stories about how the previous carpet cleaners would leave their carpets so wet their windows would even fog up.

The wet systems always seemed to get dirty really quick after cleaning. But this "new" system had tremendous advantages. It dried quick and stayed cleaner longer! Everyone was happy.

In 1981 our focus was on the residential market and our named changed from Carpet Genie to Carpet-Dri because of some not-so-nice people who tried to prosper off our good name. Their name was Genie Carpet Services. They would put ads next to ours and apparently did poor work. Not a day went by that we wouldn't get several complaints about the quality and promptness they lacked. It was just too confusing, so we settled out of court and just changed our name.

Anyway, the residential market turned out to be even more rewarding. The hours were better, we didn't have to wait 30-60 days to be paid, and the people were great! After 5 years of being a sub-contractor, I soon realized that I should start my own business.

In 1983 New Life Dry Carpet Care was born. In 1991, Ken and Penny began a partnership (and marriage) then in 1996 and 1998 Micky and Jesse were born.

One thing I hope you get from this About Us page is that I have been cleaning carpets a long time. I am still passionate about it today. I use the same methods that I learned in 1978 because nothing has ever been made that works better. We treat our customers like family and strive daily to be the best we can be.
